Over heating loosing fluid

Asked by Ozarowski May 23, 2018 at 09:40 PM about the 2005 Ford Freestyle

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Took car into Ford they said they couldn't see what was wrong until they
changed coolant bottle, once done they said water pump leaking (had replace
in July mechanic that did worksaid he stands by his work) paper work I got
from Ford only says waterpump. verbally said lower valve cover gasket.  2005
Freestyle 172,000 miles can I just get water pump replaced and wait on gasket
covers because I don't have the money. Someone told me gasket has to do
with oil, not fluid.  Someone else said if I only get water pump done that is
under warranty I will ruin car. Help I'm 66 old widow

The valve cover gaskets can wait if they are just seeping oil. Find a good independent shop and you will save money over the Stealership! Have the first mechanic look at the water pump!
