Why does the 2008 Honda Civic in the USA look different than other Honda civics 2008 outside usa (EU,MIDDLE EAST)

I don't know why but cars shipped out of the USA are different in many aspects.

Yea kinda noticed that, just thought it was the other way around.

Safety regulations are one reason. Other countries get cheap cars that have a lot of features deleted. American's have more money and are pickier.

@F_O_R actually i think the Non- american one looks better,if you guys are confused which is which the NON US is the one with the licence plater colored black and written on it 'civic'

The EU cars are better in every way better gas mileage, more power, more options, look better the US cars are have the gas guzzler computers designed to make the oil companies richer attached to them. Its not to make them safer that is just what we are told, any of you around for the last 50 years ever thought about why cars started getting less gas mileage back in the late 1980's when those ECM, PCM, Moduale , computers ect. came along. And why you use to could bring a car from overseas here and get it titled and tagged for our roads and now you can't unless its modified to include the computer designed for our roads or its a off-road car and will never be allowed to be tagged until its so many years old. The dope heads in the big house have gotten rich off the lobby money from the oil companies in the past maybe now it will stop.

I am just explaining the difference. Goobermint regs make everything worse. There are a lot of great cars we can't buy here because of some pinhead in Washington.

I understand all I'am saying too. The state I live in just now made it possible to tag a car that is older than 1979 without the title with bill of sale only, before that it was 1974, but the regulation was for pre titled cars originally and then classic cars are to be added which we thought was 25 years or older but the years did not bump up to the next years as we all were told (by Gooberment) it was going to, those of us around back then ask every years since we saved a classic from the junk yard and built the up or restored them in glee waiting to get tagged the next year, which never came. Because the AL gooberment a year ago just made its first move of that 1974 rule to 1979 which is 35 years old not 25 like they said when they made that rule to begin with by now most have been sold, gave away, raced, junked or rusted out and gone. Our time and money wasted.

But what does performance differences have to do with some lights at the back,its just visual,why couldnt they just put the International civic headlights.

Guys no one is answering why the headlights look different , the last 4 answers have nothing to do with what I'm looking for.

Then you do not understand regulation here in the USA, maybe your not citizen here or a new one which means you should take some classes to understand how this country works. Because at this moment your blind to the truth right in front of you. Regulations are the reason why headlights look different along with how those auto makers make decisions on their own accord in-order to pass those regulations to even sell here in the first place, which cost them more money to do so and they have to cut cost elsewhere if they want to make any money. They are not going to loose money to bring something here our country does not allow them too because Gooberment wants to give our car makers the upper hand in our countries car sells otherwise the way other countries manipulate their own counties currency to be devalued under ours "which is crooked" they would put our made in the USA companies out of business. Let your mind comprehend that Gooberment decides for the people what comes in this country and what does not, otherwise you are just not accepting the fact that Gooberment and cost imposed on those import auto makers to sell here is the reason. Do you finally understand that its not what styling you want or like that you can have made for you and sent here imported in the masses by HONDA its what the gooberment says you can have. Oh sorry I never knew the shape taillights would affect the "regulations of the USA " maybe if it was the brightness I would understand but it's just a mere shape.
