Cooling water problem.

Obligatory sorry for bad english German here. So after a trip on the highway i
noticed the cooling water can was empty. it had been sprayed all over the
engine room. Is it safe to poor in normal water for the meantime cuz its
smoking.

You can add just water once the engine cools down to get to where you are going. But that might only be for another couple miles before it overheats again. Find the reason for the overheat. a leak or stuck thermostat and add the necessary amount of 50 50 coolant and water.
