Ignition timing could be off. Carb. could have jets that are too large. How many miles on the engine? Are the plug wires correctly placed on the distributor cap and each plug? Has the mechanical fuel pump been recently replaced. Could be lots of things.

It has 48,000 miles on it and the carb is a 600cfm I put 650 in my last question I believe the wires are correct because I did one at a time and it idles fine no back fires
