When you say skyline R32, wich on do you mean? Sedan? Skyline GT?Skyline GTS? Skyline GTS-t? Or th GT-R? Well if it's the gtr you'r refering to then it's a manufacturer rated 286 hp. The real output is somewhere around 330 hp though....

actually brian, the r32 was only made with 2 options, not the gts-t,

and I don't believe that the R32 was released in 1999, that would be a R34 wouldn't it?

75

I think R32's had the RB20 engine, which is a 2.0L engine, the R33 has the RB25 which is a 2.5L engine and the R34 GT-R had the RB26 which is the 2.6L, so depending on which model and trim you are asking for, the engine output varies

True 1999 would be R34, official gentlemens agreement states 206KW, no car exported as grey import was allowed to have more then that, from mid eight's up to 2002, when japan cut the striaght six motor. Hence stoping production of the supra and skyline. But as we all know GT-R's had well clear of that, R34 was above 250kw. but as far as japan was concered it only had 206Kw for export reasons

the 2 latest skylines comes with rb25 in the gts/gt-t models, and r32 has the rb20det. all the 3 skylines have rb26 in the gtr version

no they dont have the rb26 in all the gtr versions the r32 only had the rb25det engine in the gtr they didnt introduce the rb26dett until the r34

5,165

correction on myself and you they introduced the rb26dett in the r33 gtr

R32 GT-R had two variants of the RB26 engine, this MAy sound odd but it is true, It had A RB26DTT and RB26DETT. hte first of the 2 (the RB26DTT was only from start of R32 to about mid 90's) not long at all, from there on it was the RB26DETT in all Skyline GT-R's. NOW that may seem very odd But u should see the looks i get when i tell people that there is such a thing as a SR18 engine.

wow. First things first. GTS Skyline has the RB20DET. A strait 6 2.0 liter engine with a single turbo. RB25DET was optional. And the GTS is rear wheel drive. GTR has RB26DETT, Strait 6 2.6 liter engine twin turbo. The R32 -33-34 ALL have them. The GTRs are 4WD. Each gen of Skyline has ran with the same engine. Just everysingle one had fix up's. Like the R32's Oil Crank was to short and at high RPM could brake and spill oil and blow your engine. That was fixed in the R33 and R34. Really guys, read up on your crap cause a lot of you sound clueless. Now to point some things out. Quote;"I think R32's had the RB20 engine, which is a 2.0L engine, the R33 has the RB25 which is a 2.5L engine and the R34 GT-R had the RB26 which is the 2.6L, so depending on which model and trim you are asking for, the engine output varies" Please tell me who told you this so I can smack them. Also the R32 came out first as GTR and the GTR like EVERY GTR came out with the RB26DETT. (Race Bred 2.6 liter Twin Turbo) After time they came out with the GTS which originally comes with RB20DET. If an RB20DET was in a GTR, you would be screwed. Your tranny would not work. The same goes for the R33. And the RB25DET was also only for the GTS version. Some came with it some didn't. Most people just swap the RB25DET into the GTS and sell the RB20DET. The R32 -33-34 GTR specs compared. The R32 is fastest in Acceleration in all categories. And the R34 is a 6-Speed to the 5-Speed R32 and 33. http://i189.photobucket.com/albums/z252/nwyouth_forever/l_ea5b0b7ed88a0bd7b2941e1a1d0cd22b.jpg RB26DETT in a GTR. http://i189.photobucket.com/albums/z252/nwyouth_forever/0abf_1-1.jpg RB20DET from a GTS. yea lol the r32 was on my mind all day .... so naturally... thats what i put by accident i actually meant the r34

Um.. No. The RB26DETT ran all the way through the GTR's life. The 'E' stands for electronic fuel injection. What you're suggesting is that the RB26DETT came out in.... carbuerettor form? Sorry that makes me laugh, very hard, for a very long time.

Okay so I know this an old thread, but I feel like I have to butt in here because I came to find out some more information about the R32. But a lot of you guys have stated some incorrect information so first of all the rb26dett was available in the R32, r33, and R34 GTR. Also, every Skyline from R32 to R34 had different trims such as GTS, gtst, GTS 4, and GTR. All trims except the GTR come in sedan or Coupe. Also if you're talking about a 1999 skyline, it would be an R34. The R32 was in production from 1987 to 1994 the r33 was in production from 1993 to 1998 and R34 from 1999 to 2002. Hope this was helpful! - (Former R32 owner)
