Why does service engine soon light come on

Need to pull the codes from the computer. Without knowing that, it's anybody's guess.

The computer has detected a problem with one of the engine's sensors or the engine is not running correctly. As Gary said you need to get the trouble codes to find out what's going on. Visit your local auto parts store and have them scan the computer. Most stores will do it for free. Hope that helps! Jim
