note the diagram for starter motor. The starter motor has two voltage circuits, one comes from the battery, hot all the time. The other circuit goes hot when starter relay is energized. The starter motor is grounded through the engine block. When problem is ongoing, jump the starter relay, see if starter motor will crank the engine? If you try that, make sure transmission is in park or neutral and the parking brake is set. Vehicle can't move. If the key is in on position, when you jump the relay, depending on the problem, the vehicle may start and run? I can only help with testing. good luck
I would suspect a problem with the ignition switch. When things get hot they expand. This expansion could be causing a bad connection at the ignition switch wiring. Or possibly in the ignition switch itself. Unplug the ignition switch and clean the plug with some electronic cleaner. See if that solves the problem. Hope that helps! Jim
