Hello The most typical reason for the older toyotas having water in oil is the head gasket thats gone.
how much water is in the oil? it's not completely uncommon for condensation to build up and seep into the engine, but a bad head gasket is a deffinate possibility.
If is equipped with a 22R engine, it is most likely the timing cover has had a hole worn in it by a loose timing chain. That is very common with those engines and I just repaired one on my 1985 Toyota pickup. I bought a new timing covver at around $100 (I think) but the cover could have been repaired by welding much cheaper. Hope this helps.
Most of the time when there's water in the oil it's usually a blown head gasketor a bad intake gasket to check this take a can of brake cleaner that's flamable wile the engine is running spray alittle along ware the head and block meat if it surges you have a blown head gasket if you do replace it and take the head in to get checked for cracks and warpage if so replace the head if it can't be fixed put it back together and it should run like new. I hope this helps you out.

My Toyota pickup had the same problem with radiator leaks quite a bit and radiator fluid also found in engine oi. You can check it with the oil dip stick. My problem was caused by timing cover with internal cracked because timing chain and timing guides damaged and put holes inside the timing cover. You can buy the new timing cover for around $82 on Ebay. Hope this help

Should I assume that if the oil is not foamy, that the Head Gasket is not an issue? High Temperature is also not an issue.
