My speedometer quite working while I was driving it. Now it's making a clicking or ticking sound in the dash - only when the car is moving. I removed the speedometer cable and it looks like it is OK.

what would cause the ticking sound and could it still be the cable if it's not broken and seems to turn well?

I think it is a worn or broken cable. Check out Moss Motors.

This is a something new. I have replaced the fuel pump and cleaned the carb.

I have a 1980 MGB which has been showing overheating without a clear cause. I had lost fluid and could not identify where from. Yesterday was very cool in Northeast and I drove with the interior heater on for five minutes and stopped for a few minutes .
