Question type: Maintenance & Repair

On my 1977 MGB, I replaced the battery and starter motor and when I turn the key I hear a click at the relay but no cloink at the starter. It still doesn't turn over, what am I doing wrong?  can you please help me get it started again?

Maybe there is corrosion on the battery terminals or cable ends. Check all the connections and make sure they are clean and tight.

Damaged or corroded wires? Sometimes the corrosion is hidden by wire insulation.

Put the car in gear with the engine switched off (2nd or 3rd), then push the car through one rotation of the wheels. Then put in neutral and try starting it.
