Jacking up a 03 Ford Explorer

Asked by Guru9NYF7N Jan 19, 2022 at 10:59 PM about the 2003 Ford Explorer

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

We took our 03 Ford Explorer and had tires replaced. They jacked it up by the
rear differential and did not use the frame. Started to leave could not get over
10 mph. Could them jacking it up mess something up?

Could be pure coincidence but I doubt it , There's no harm in raising the rear axle block . If there's a sensor in it that may have been broken but tire swap is fairly simple take it to another shop you can trust and have them take a look . Have the codes read and remember the clerk at auto zoo is not a mechanic .. I'm very particular about who touches my vehicles for the things I can't do . That's what I think .

How did they change the front tires? I’m certain this is a AWD vehicle so all the tires must match in brand and tire diameter or your going to ruin the AWD system and that gets expensive really fast.
