Ambient Temperature Sensor

Asked by passafiher Jun 04, 2010 at 07:29 PM about the 2003 Ford Explorer

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Not a serious problem like some of the posts here but here goes. My ambient temp readout on the dash changed from being right on to reading at least 8 degrees hot all of a sudden. I already changed the sensor but the reading is still the same hot. Anybody else ever have this problem and find a way to solve it. It's a 2003 if that helps.

This is the ambient air [outside temp] not motor temp. It's reading hotter than what the temp really is in the morning before the motor has even started. There's only a sensor not a thermostat.

I have the same problem, but mine is reading about 10 degrees colder than actual temp
