Question type: Maintenance & Repair
Hi I have a opel corsa 1.4is 2001 model. I have a
pain in the butt problem with my car. In the
morning or when ever during the day when I try to
start my car it cranks very long and then eventually
starts and runs rough for a while then starts to
clear up and runs perfect can smell feul as if its
overfeuling. Have no performance problems while
driving. I replaced the cambelt, crank sprocket
(keyway_crank pulley) feul pump(bosch) feul
pressure regulator. I am sure the timing is correct.
Also replaced the temp sensor under coil. Tested
the air flow meter and so on. No vacuum leaks.
Anyone please help.

I have the shame problem if i remove the plugs of the injectors rail den it start but cutvout agne the car keep on floud the spark plugs enyone know y it does that
Might be the key transponder that is failing.
Change the power sensor the one that is sensing the pulley and replace't with new one and you also need to replace temperature sensor , your car will start perfect trust me
Got the same problem on my 1.4is . So should i replace my crank sensor. ?

Hi there. I sold my Opel Corsa last year GuruMWZK9. You can see I send this problem I had 2years ago. 2years ago I changed my crank sensor, coil, plugs(correct plugs), fuel pressure regulator valve, crank pulley, crank timing gear with new keyway, temp sensor under coil pack, vacuum lines, Bosch fuel pump, bougi cords ex. Spend a lot on parts. Still had a problem with overfueling. Basically what my car did was when ever I switch off the car it pre ignited. And it struggled to start right after that. Had to crank long before it will start. And then will smell fuel and some smoke coming from engine. Thought it might be carbon build up on the pistons but no. My car eventually came right . Now and then did that but yes. Sold the car.

Guru7B6P8 only replace crank sensor if check engine light stays on. If your car starts and while it idles check the crank pulley if it doesn't vibrate like a bent pulley. On opels the keyway wears out so the pulley sometimes move from it's tdc mark. If worn replace pulley and crank timing gear. If all is fine. I would prefer you take car for diagnostic scan. I'm only mentioned a couple of issues. Fuel pump issues. Check your fuel pressure. If pressure drops replace fuel pressure regulator. It will also let the fuel return to tank and needs to build pressure again on a long crank. Good luck
