battery problem or not?

Hi. I bought a battery 8 months ago but now the car starts and runs. The minute I switch off the car the battery dies and the car doesn't restart. Is this a battery problem?

More like a parasitic drain on the battery and/or a non-functioning alternator. Most auto stores can check if the battery is good, provided it's fully charged. They can also check that your alternator is functioning correctly.
