Can shift gears and rev the car but the car wont move

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hi. Please help me. I have a Opel Corsa Utility 1.4 2006 (mileage 230000)
and ever since I bought it new, I have serviced it and had no major problems
until yesterday. I parked it the day before, after it had been running with no
issues and when I wanted to go out to the shops yesterday it simply did not
move. The engine started okay, I let it run a bit and when I put the gear on
reverse and released the hand brake it refused to move. Same thing with
when I put it on 1st gear. I can feel the car wants to move but its like
something is totally refusing it to move (as if the hand brake is on). I do not
have any signals indicating a problem/issues on the counter. I am totally at a
loss.
