My 2003 Taurus makes a thuming noise it comes from under the car, not the motor. When I slow down in my gravel driveway I hear it. Feels or sounds like shocks or something is loose.

It could be a problem with your front breaks because when they are going bad you will feel it in your steering wheel and your rear breaks when going bad you will feel a vibration in the break pedal.

I know it needs brakes and possibly more. This thumping noise isn't the brakes, I don't know what it is. Wonder if it could be struts or sway bar.

Thanks y'all I will have it looked at. Don't think this car and I are a good fit. I looked under the dash and guess what....no fuses. They said it had a new brain just put in. My bad for not looking.

possible fuses are in dash panel you will see when drivers door is open.
So why would my car sound like it it honking while driving over 60 mph
