Lost ignition key. broke off part of steering
column to put new ignition in. THEFT light in
dash keeps blinking and van don't start.
Found lost key.  Why won't it start?

The key has an RFID chip in it that the vehicle's computer needs to be programmed to recognize the key. It will never start until you get the computer reprogrammed to recognize the key. This will require a very well equipped locksmith or the dealership. Losing keys in today's computerized vehicles can be expensive.
