Starter replacement

Replaced my starter, went to hook up my battery
and starter engaged as soon as it made
connection, with out keys in the ignition

It is either wired up wrong or the solenoid (on the starter) is stuck in the on position. If it is a solenoid problem the starter will have to be replaced again. Also an issue with the ignition switch could be the problem. Why are you replacing the starter and what was it doing prior to replacing the starter?

Occasionally while trying to start it sometimes it would almost lock up like you stuck something in the flywheel it would just stop somebody said that it might have been my Bendix in my starter going out not retracting or something that I needed to replace my starter
