I don't know anything about the "new" 124 Spider. So if that is the vintage that you are lusting for, please disregard my input. If it is a vintage spider that you desire then my first thought is, does the car REALLY only have "@35,000 miles"? I believe that 1982 was the last year for the "FIAT" Spider. They were produced as "Pinninfirina (sic?)" Spiders for a few years after that. I had a 1981 Spider and loved it. But it did suffer from the typical old age maladies. The wiring was brittle, things wore out after almost 40 years on the road and a good, knowledgeable mechanic was hard to find for the few times that I was too busy, lazy or bewildered to do the repairs myself, Overall it was a comfortable, reliable, good handling car that rode far better than its contemporaries. My big mistake was installing a roll bar. I felt safer but the installation limited the seat travel and make it impossible for my 6-foot carcass to have sufficient leg room. So I sold it. Good luck.
