Question type: Maintenance & Repair
I have a 2002 ford escape V6 engine, I replaced the battery about 4 months
ago due to the same drainage problems, I went to my car this morning and
had the same not turning over and then clicking noise when trying to start it. I
have no knowleage of cars but the postive side has a cover on it but the
negative side does not.

The cover is for the positive side of the battery. Even if there was no cover that be fine. But you need to take it to someone who can trace down a parasitic draw on the battery.
So at this point you need to charge the battery back up. Also would be a good idea to have the charging system checked. If the charging system is working fine, then it will need to be checked for that parasitic draw.
Charge the battery and check your cables. As I posted on another the cables do not hold up. We have the same car at work and There’s a small crack on the positive and a rusted ground by the battery tray on the driver fender well. We Replaced the cable ends and it worked. Also grounds are an issue in these cars. Get those checked before throwing parts at it and going crazy trying to find solutions on the internet. Good luck
