I am trying to refurbish my Dad's 1987 Mercury Grand Marquis. The doors and truck lid
are rusty and need to be replaced. Will the doors and truck lid from a 1988 Mercury Grand
Marquis fit?

The 1st generation "Grand" Marquis spans the years 1979 to 1991; therefore, it is reasonable to assume the doors and body panels are interchangeable. Take good notes and measure the bolt patterns on the door and door frame, measure the overall door size as well. Take pictures too if needed. Find a junkyard that has the doors you need, go there and measure them for comparaison. That should be a good start.

1979 thru 1991 Ford Crown Victoria and Mercury Grand Marquis all 4 doors are all interchangeable. the trucklid on the 87 is the same from 1979 thru '87. the 1988 thru 1991 trunklids are different, they will interchange but the 88 thru 91 tail lights and rear quarter panel extensions would have to be used as well as the later rear bumper too, so if you have an '87 you will need to use parts from a 1979 thru '87 Grand Marquis to keep it looking original. Hope this helps, Good Luck. Kenny/MrBlueOval
I suspect the door panels might be different as interior styles change a lot but the doors themselves should not be a problem.
are the doors from 87 lincoln the same as 87 mercury ?
