Question type: General

A/C blows cool but not cold air, I can hear the compressor clutch kicking in and out, checked refrigerant and is full. Any ideas, checked some fuses, or something else easy? Outside temp 78-82 degrees.

yes the evaporator should not be icing, it's what happens when the unit is overcharged---check the specification to where it should be---your filter/drier may not letting refrigerant flow through could check on the sight glass for flow~....also there is a "environmental, or cabin filter that isn't too hard to change~....tooo

how did you check the refrigerant and know it was full? that can only be accurately done with a machine.

Guy checked it at Auto parts store with a store bought can of refrigerant and and a connector hose with a gauge on it. But not sure it is reliable. Thoughts?

take it to a shop and have them pull all the refrigerant out and then see if it is full. if it is low they should fill it back to spec. and add dye to the system so that the next time it stops blowing cold they can find a leak with a black light the dye will light up. it doesnt have a reciver dryer it has a suction accumulator. Installation of a new suction accumulator is not required when repairing the air conditioning system except when there is physical evidence of system contamination from a failed A/C compressor or damage to the suction accumulator.

...no kbro since the disappearance of Gary, and David we are at a loss for guys who know whatinahell is goin' on here~ you will rise, I'll "pump you up" just as DavidH25 (bless his heart) did for me~ it wasn't all me sweartogod not that knowledge, just know which threads to pluck from the internet sweater~

If I could only do everything again would be met with the same dumb- asses who were holding me back the first time---keep workin' on that flux capacitor....you'll be master of time and space in no time at all~
