My 2002 ford explorer, the check engine light just came on I wondering if it has anything to do with the 4x4 high light blinking?

Asked by Little_Miss Sep 22, 2014 at 11:38 AM about the 2002 Ford Explorer

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

We recently bought the SUV and had to replace the control module behind the glove box,
due to the explorer being stuck in 4x4 low.  Then it ran fine and then the 4x4 high light
kept comming on and a grinding feeling while I drove, so we unhooked the transfer case
motor after finding a split ground wire. We unhooked until the part comes in so I can still
drive.  Now the check engine light is on and I'm not sure of it's just the vehicles way of
reminding me that the 4x4 needs attention.
Anything anyone can tell me would be a help! Thank you

Go to AutoZone or someplace like that and have them read the codes. It's a free service and then you know what it is.
