have you done an oil change since this occurred? apparently not if you're all locked up---it won't turn over as in wraw-wraw-wraw----still the engine turns or just "click" then nothing? if this is the case first make sure the battery isn't somehow dead with a jumpstart....then seek out a new motor cause the water has ruined it by now, should have drained the oil and replaced it immediately before any damage was done....now just see if we can 'turn over' at least, if so there's some hope---

the battery is under the back seat, no? how old is this battery...if it's the original 2001, it' too old and stopped accepting a charge four years ago~ these things are such a pain to have to take out the back seat cushion and put it somewhere...hopefully not on the highway...in traffic....not one of their finest moments....~

First we need to know how high the water was and if a wave of water entered the engine compartment. Secondly, check your air cleaner. Is it wet? Thirdly, pull the dipstick and check the oil, is it milky or watery? Lastly, if possible, pull the tranny dipstick and check the fluid. Does it look pink like Pepto Bismol or is it still red? If the air cleaner is wet, you got water in your intake, possibly in your engine. If that's the case, you may have locked up the engine or blown a rod through the block. If no oil shows on the dipstick or the oil or tranny fluid is milky (or pink in the case of tranny fluid), you definitely have oil in the engine block or trans which may be a rod issue as well since water cannot compress and it does not mix with oil. If there's no evidence of water in the air cleaner, trans fluid or oil, there is probably either an electrical issue or just a connection issue due to the water. Take a hair dryer and slowly dry out all electrical connections. Have the battery checked just to be on the safe side and get thee to a mechanic. My guess is, though, that you have water in the engine.
