is there some sort of dampening that can be placed between the arms and the differential and body to reduce the conducting of the whining sound coming from the gears? In addition to the bushings that
Since I bought the car in April 2012, I noticed a whine coming from the rear
end. I figured it was coming from my differential. However when I had it looked
at there was no problem. Recently I bought the polyurethane bushings, for my
rear control arms, and had them installed. The whining got louder and I even
felt it resonating thru the body and stick shift. It was determined that the metal
from the arms were resting against the differential. They filed down the rim of
the arms so that the bushings would extend beyond the rims. this reduced the
whining but not totally nor significantly. This of course would be in addition to
the bushings. The whining is louder than the sound of the engine!
Thank you very much,
