Ac

Asked by Chandale Apr 19, 2018 at 04:55 PM about the 2002 Ford Windstar

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The AC does not blow in any of the front 4 panels
but blows ice cold air in the back ones. No air at all
is coming out of the front panels at all and I have
filled the freon (not sure how it's spelled) and still
no air at all.

Sounds like the blend air door may not be working properly. Basically just a door flap that blocks or allows hot (or cold) air flow from the engine area into the cab where you are seated. So, it may be in the wrong position and thus blocking the cold air from getting to the interior of the car. Since the rear vents are working properly, you know your air conditioner is charged and working properly, so that seems to rule out many of the other possibilities, making a stuck or non-functioning blend door the likely culprit. Its often a mechanic related job, but you may be able to google your car model and find how to do it yourself.
