i have a honda civic ex 1997 car and it viberates/shakes some times when i speed up or sow down. what does this mean?

sounds like a motor or tranny mount needs to be replaced

cv axle, worn motor mounts will clunk when you press the gas from a stop. CV axles may click when turned sharp or can make the car shake during acceleration or deceleration.

um cv axles wont shake the car during acceleration or slowing down. and honda uses rubber braced motor mounts after the fuckin 80's that prevents the clunking long after the motor mounts need replacing. good try though

unless you hit a rock that knocked off one of the weights in it but thats not easy to do you should be able to see that without trying and you shouldn't even be able to around the city with a problem like that.

If the inner joint on the cv axle is worn under acceleration it becomes off center an will shake, this can also me the same if you have a stick shift and engine brake alot. I was not trying to disprove you about the motor mounts, it could very well be the problem too. I just need to know if the shake is felt all throughout the car or in the steering wheel.

did a lil bit of research and your right that is more than likely the problem this guy should be able to see that kind of damage right away right?

You should be able to grab the cv axle and try to shake it at the joints, there should be no play in the joints. The end that goes into the transaxle will move in and out a little but thats it. No up and down

It will be obvious because the boot will be torn and unable to contain grease.

Balancing and aligment of tires solve the problem for me....

I got a vibration noise when I accelerate but it goes away and my steering feels funny the steering wheel ain't shaking but it feels like my car is and I'm all over the road what could that be
