My mechanic says my car needs new crankshaft, I cannot find a price for that part, only for sensors, seals and gears. Approx how much is a crankshaft itself?

The oil pump went out on our car and now our mechanic says because of this the crankshaft needs to be replaced. I cannot find out anything about this online. Please help. I am a lady and don't like being taken.
