Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2005 pt cruiser that shuts off while driving.
I changed the cam shaft sensor and it was fine for
about a week or so. Now it has started to do the
same thing again. Can someone please help me?

Codes? The ECM will shut off a motor if it senses anything off with timing, so check for codes pertaining to cam & knock sensors. Mind you this is a hard shut off of engine, like a switch, not dying from lack of fuel or air. If motor is high-mileage, timing chain stretch and wear on guides can allow enough slack to trigger a knock sensor.

I took it to auto zone and they told me the cam shaft sensor. I replaced it and now it's doing it again. Do you think I need to reset the ECM?
