My dad wants me to get a engine flush he thinks that mite be the problem but I just feel it's something else...cjsras would a engine flush help if there was air in the system?

Flushing the engine is basically putting in fresh coolant which is a good maintenance thing to do. The system will need to be bleed properly after the flush. So yes.
