What do I need to do to put a 350 transmission in a
1956 Pontiac with a 389 motor.

Check out wilcap dot com for transmission adapters. Are you sure it is a 389? Your year car came with a 317. The 389 came out in 1959.

Not likely. If it is the right length you could probably have a drive shaft shop modify it. If not they can make a new one.

If this is a hot motor you should consider a turbo 400 or a later 4 speed auto with overdrive.

Your Answer:

Chieftain
