What would cause lots of free play with steering wheel (throughout the entire drive no matter speed)? Random reoccurring, extreme wobbling & vibrations of front left wheel at various highway speeds?

Could be your tie rod if so you can jack car up to see if you have any movement in wheel

I have also heard (randomly but recent) a clanking pop sound when turning left at slow speed. Only from right front tire area. What could this be?
