98 sebring rad.fan burnt up and now a/c wont kick on and trans. squeals an slips

I believe this vehicle is equipped with two fans. One is primarily an engine cooling fan, and the other is primarily for the A/C system. While it is true that these motors can burn out and quit working, it is far more likely that a relay gave out. In fact, I believe that the the relay that turns one fan on is the very same that turns the A/C compressor on, as the two work in tandem. At any rate, the system is designed such that the A/C system will not function without the additional cooling. There should be two wires to the fan motor(s). To check the fan in question, start the car and turn on the A/C. There should now be power at one of the two wires. If not try the other fan, if equipped. If you have power but no fan, it is a bad fan. If no power the problem is elsewhere, such as a relay. You can also check the cooling fan in a similar manner. Locate and disconnect the engine coolant temperature sensor. Now when you start the car, the cooling fan should come on. Again, check for power to and through components, starting at component end and working toward the power source, or the other way around if you have a schematic. When you come to a component that gets the power but doesn't relay it when commanded, you have found the problem
