What might cause the CJ5 to start with no problem and 5 minutes later nothing.

Asked by Wazzu42 Sep 08, 2014 at 01:20 AM about the 1983 Jeep CJ-5

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Key ignition works with or without a key.  Currently nothing happens when the key is
turned. The battery has been replace and so has the starter solenoid.  I am able to start
the jeep by jumping the starter solenoid.   Im thinking the key ignition cylinder needs to
be replaced.
