I was driving down the road and the battery was slowly being drained. I drove 10 minutes and it went completely dead. The cables are connected properly.

:( Ty, that's the only thing I could come up with because the battery doesn't have anything to do with the engine itself except the alternator, I thought?

You are welcome,replace alternator should fix your issue,,good luck with it.
