Dodge Durango revving while driving...

Three issues that have come up recently:
1) truck downshifts HARD while coasting. Can do it while at 25 mph or 60
mph. And by hard, I mean physically jerks me forward a bit.
2) Truck will turn off while driving. Engine light does come on though, will
sometimes stay on sometimes turn off. I go to side of road, turn off, turn
back on, and I am good to go. Has happened three times this week. Never
above 50 mph.
3) The most irritating problem - Im accelerating, basically have my foot on
gas, and suddenly truck acts like someone is punching the gas and letting
off super fast and rapid. Yes I decelerate when this happens,  Yet my foot
remains consistent on the gas. I will let off, and slowly put foot on again,
and it might do it a couple more times before becoming normal. There is
no trend to indicate when this happens. Again, under 50mph from what I
can remember.

I understand these are serious issues, and I will be taking it in, however, I
would like an understanding before shelling out $$$$$$$$$$ without truly
knowing why. Also, hoping someone confirms my suspicion of a computer
problem that could be resolved by a quick reset somewhere, or a Jiffy
Lube like solution before I succumb to the money pit. TIA!!
