I replaced a tailgate on my 2005 Dodge Caravan with a tailgate from a Grand Caravan. The door open light stays on now. Can I jumper the connectors for the liftgate or will that fry my computer?

there is a bad connection, did you connect all the wires?
Yes. The conversion was awkward ie the caravan (my vehicle) had one harness versus the Grand Caravan originally had 2, but the second harness was for the door lift. After the light wouldn't go out, I removed the lift baffles on either side, which also had connectors. Of course, the lift actuator on the left side was never installed, since the Caravan doesn't have any place to attach it. Would LOVE to figure this out, since the cargo light stays on constantly since it thinks the door is open, thus I have to manually turn it off and thus lose my dash brightness in the process. The back of the vehicle was smashed in an accident, so, although the new door closes and locks, the hatch open light stays on. Not sure where the trigger to indicate the door is closed is at on the Caravan and can't find a schematic or diagram that would tell me.
