Question type: Maintenance & Repair

89 chevy cheyenne, 4.3L truck
will not turn over and just has a
clicking sound. Yesterday I
replaced the starter and today
battery. Still nothing, I find it
odd though that the heads
lights come on by themselves.
There was no sign ran two prior
to truck not running. What else
could it be? If electrical where
do I start?

Are your grounds good on the starter and battery? Do you hear anything when you turn it over? Are you getting any gas in the carb?

Are you guys for real? I'm still thinking on this...The thing I'm not figuring out is the head lights coming on by themselves.

Connectors to the battery are good, tomorrow I'm going to clean the connectors to the starter. They didn't look bad, but who knows. I had this problem the other day and I tapped on the starter a few times and it started. Went out the next day and the same thing so changed the starter, battery and same thing. Yeah the headlights are have really puzzled me as well.

It's not turning over, it's not even clicking. Think I can eliminate a fuel issue right now.
