1985 C10 bogging and stalling

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Stalls at low idle, especially going into reverse so I
gotta kick the gas when I move from a start and
sit at lights and stop signs with one foot on the
brake and one foot revving it so it doesn't stall.
Rebuilt the carburetor last year hoping it would fix
this and also an issue with it bogging out when I
got on the highway. Bogging issue went away until
I adjusted the timing (to try and fix the stalling),
now its doing both. Something else is making my
timing go way out, having to adjust it about every
week to get it back to spec, maybe need a new
distributor? Any suggestions help.. I'm kind of
new.

one of the things you might change is the gas filter. the purge valve might be hurting you a bit too.

I replaced the fuel filter when I rebuilt the carb last year, I will look into the purge valve though. Now its barely starting and dies out immediately when it does..
