My 2003 Dodge Durango is choking/sputtering, ran it through the diagnostics machine

Have you owned it since new? Have you ever had the "CATS" checked? (catalytic converters) They can build up a clog, and die. They mostly filter out crud from the engine, to keep the air quality clean. When they clog up, they can choke the engine, cause misfires and backfires; that firecracker "bang" that happens sometimes, as an engine tries to keep going. And there's loss of power, too. You might notice it yourself, sometimes, when you're sitting still in traffic, wondering what is causing that sulfur, hard-boiled egg, farty sort of smell. Get your "CATS" checked.
