Problems starting car after shutting off

Asked by Nancy Aug 25, 2015 at 12:24 PM about the 2001 Ford Taurus

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I can get the car started but after running for a while I will shut off. I can sometimes
start immediately again, but if I wait for 5minutes it will not start. There is no cranking
or clicking sounds I have power to the headlights, dome lights and radio though. To me
it seems it is the alternator has drained my battery enough that there isn't enough
power left to crank the starter at all. But if I wait another 30 minutes minimum the car
will start again. This is frustrating to me. What could the problem be.........HELP
