Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I towed a car less than a mile and had it in scond gear and and towed the car and had no problems. Went fine and drove 20+ miles home and still no problems then went to get up and go to work and srtarted the car and check engine light is on. Went to auto zone and I have a code P0871 and thats the only code there.
What do I do and do I really need to bring it to a dealer to fix it?

You can reset the code by unplugging the - connector on the battery for about 1 minute and then reconnect. You can also read the codes your self by putting the key in to the ignition and turning it fast from off to on 3 times leaving it on on and the codes will appear in the dash where the odo is.
