2001 Dodge Durango

Asked by Cristian Feb 06, 2019 at 01:12 PM about the 2001 Dodge Durango SLT 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I was on my way home from H-E-B, when I got in
my 2001 Dodge Durango it wouldn’t turn on. I
tought It might’ve been the battery so I used
Jumping Cables, It turned on but as soon as I let
got of the accelerator it turned off. When I turned
on the truck the “Check Gage” light turned on if I
pressed the brakes the truck would turn off. I
managed to drive my truck home without pressing
the brakes.

I had a 2002 Durango that acted similar. This happened to me after replacing the thermostat and the battery got low. I ended up disconnecting the battery and charging it. This reset the computer. When the battery was fully charged it was fine.
