If a timing chain goes in a 2000 Intrepid with a 2.7L, can it still have compression and spark?

If the chain breaks, no, it'll smash valves. If it just jumped, yes, but it'll soon grenade. These engines are junk and the chain jumping is a symptom of lubrication problems due to sludge.
