Question type: Maintenance & Repair

When I start the car the light comes on after 10 seconds. I can turn the car off and when I restart it the same thing happens, the light come on after 10 seconds. Would a fuseable link act like this or maybe a relay.

is your alternator belt okay?...I'd test the output of the alternator~...replace if bad~ be sure the chassis ground is solidly connected to the battery and block~ wirebrush if necessary~

The alt belt seems to be fine. I have not tested the alt. because I have seen many good alts check bad because of other issues depending on how a particular car is wired. I only assume the alt is charging when first started because the light is out. What puzzels me is that it is exactly 10 seconds every time when the light comes on. It seems like a closed circuit opens or something. I am looking for anything that may be common to an intrepid.
