Is it necessary to disable the power from the battery when removing coil packs

I need to remove my coil pack to remove my valve cover. Do I have to
disconnect power tfrom the battery

it is always a good idea to take the battery cable off before working on a car safer anyway. but some cars need to have the memory saver plugged in. you can get one at an auto parts store it goes in the cig lighter plug with a 9 volt battery on it to save car computer memory.
