You need a scanner or just take it to your local auto parts, they will read the codes for you free of charge

You can get a decent scanner on Ebay for as little as $10 which includes a CD and a book listing all codes. The scanner also defines the code numbers. It is an OBD 2 scanner for cars 1996 and newer. WalMart had the same scanner for $40 last year.
