Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My expedition has about 110,000 miles and sometimes will surge. Sometimes i will be cruising and the rpms will drop about 200-300 and it will start slowing down like i dropped it into second gear. Other times i will be at a red light with my foot just barely on the break and all of a sudden the rpms will rise 300-500 and lurch forward. Does anyone have a diagnosis for this problem? Not even the Ford dealers can figure it out.

have you checked for a vac leak? And you TPS? It might be your injectors. I would recommend that you leave the truck with a mechanic for a few days and get him to drive it with his computer hooked up to you OBD port, that way when it buggers up he can see what all the sensors are doing. If you have had it in to a Ford dealer and they haven't mentioned this, I would got to a new mechanic. With the computer hooked up the tech can see what is going on, it is more detailed than the info you get off your dash. Best of luck.
