92 dodge Dakota will not start!

Asked by Michael Feb 23, 2014 at 10:23 PM about the 1992 Dodge Dakota

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 92 dodge Dakota it will not
start whatsoever. My coolant hose
had a hole in it, so it was
overheating. The day after the
coolant hose got a hole in it I started
it and it started I then replaced the
coolant hose and it won't start at all.
It will turn over but won't fire, the
spark plugs are sparking and I can
smell gas which means the fuel
injectors are working.

I would do a pressure test on the cooling system to check for blown head gasket. What color is your oil? If looks like a milkshake the head gasket is blown for sure. But it looking normal does not mean that the head gasket is not blown tho.
