Flood to start, dies when take out of gear

I have to pump gas a lot to start my 00 ford v6 3.8l
mustang and when take out of gear it dies. What
causes this and possibly needs fixed?

Sounds like a fuel issue. How old is the fuel filter and or pump? You can check the fuel pressure with a gauge if you want to verify.

Pumping the gas pedal on a fuel injection engine does absolutely nothing. Holding the pedal to the floor while cranking puts the computer in clear flood mode. I'd suspect a leaking fuel injector or bad fuel pressure regulator. Hope that helps! Jim
